Stacy Clark

The San Miguel Writers’ Conference is excited to announce that after attending the 2012 conference, writer Stacy Clark has found an agent and subsequently a book deal.  Her children’s book When the Wind Blows will be published in the near future by Holiday House Books.

How did this all happen?  Well, we wrote Stacy and she emailed us back an exhilarating story of what transpired.  At the conference she met with agent Andy Ross and author Susan Sutliff Brown.  They spoke about Stacy’s writing and Andy asked her to send him some of her work.

“So I emailed Andy the story he requested.  Two days later, Andy requested an Author Statement from me and he said he LOVED the story and that as soon as I forwarded along an Author Statement, he would ‘send it out.’ Less than 48 hours later, Grace Maccarone at Holiday House made Andy an offer and we agreed. The deal was done that fast!”

Stacy is already polishing the second book in her series When the Sun Shines and has some ideas rolling around in her head for the third book When the Waves Roll.  We are pleased  that after years of trying to get published Stacy finally met Andy at our conference.

From February 13-17, 2013 we will be hosting the 8th annual San Miguel Writers’ Conference.  Like previous years we will once again be offering ‘pitch sessions’ with agents.  Many writers and artists have said that San Miguel de Allende is a magical place and Stacy’s story proves that it’s true.
