Do you have poetry, creative non-fiction, or fiction sitting in the back of your hard drive?  Well, now is the time to polish that piece and submit it to us. This year we will be selecting one winner from each category and inviting them to join us in magical San Miguel de Allende.  Not only could you be one of the writers to walk away with a “Full Conference Registration” and free lodging, but you could also earn the prestige of being published by the San Miguel Writers’ Conference on our website.

  1. magicalmysticalteacher says:

Can poems have been printed in one’s personal blog, or are such poems ineligible?

  2. If we enter and win, can we have a refund if we buy the early-bird conference pricing now?

  3. Would a children’s book qualify under fiction or are you not seeking this genre in submissions?

  4. Is there a writing prompt or can the topic be our choice?

  5. Can a former SMA conference volunteer enter. I am not going to be able to volunteer this year since I will be hosting a conference attendee and a conference faculty member.

  6. Question – I have something that I want to submit, but it is a hybrid piece (prose, poetry, flash non-fiction). I wondered what my limits would be in terms of submission totals – do I focus on the poetry expectations or the prose?

  7. What if a writer has a book under contract but has not yet published it?

  8. Is the contest just for English Writers? Not Spanish Speaking Writers?
